PRINCIPAL

AIA, NCARB

Rick serves as the firm’s Design Director and Business Development Director and has been a principal of Rowe Architects since 1990. He followed his father into the profession, developing a deep familiarity with the practice from an early age and gaining hands-on experience with the firm throughout middle and high school, as well as during his undergraduate studies in architecture at the University of Florida.

Rick continued his education at the Yale School of Architecture, where he studied under Pritzker Prize-winning architects Frank O. Gehry and Sverre Fehn. Prior to rejoining Rowe Architects in 1987, he worked at Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo Architects in Hamden, Connecticut, and at Caudill Rowlett Scott in Houston, Texas, gaining experience within nationally respected design practices.

Since then, Rick’s passionate and highly collaborative approach to design and leadership have resulted in the firm consistently producing buildings and spaces that have been recognized by his peers and the profession as being exemplary of attention to detail, design, planning and client service - principles that continue to shape the firm’s practice today. He was the 2022 AIA Tampa Bay Medal of Honor recipient, a testament to his dedication to the craft.
